Troubleshooting Audio Issues

If audio playback through your car's stereo is not optimal try the following troubleshooting steps.

 

Scenario: Solution:
When using Place Search the microphone doesn't hear everything I say This issue can occur in older vehicles that support Hands-Free Profile (HFP) Bluetooth. Older stereos (also known as head units) can exhibit a lag or delay between time of the connection from the phone to the stereo and the audio output from the phone to the stereo.

Don’t worry! Navdy has built a feature to fix this issue called Speech delay. In order to perform this test and implement the Speech delay setting specific to your car your phone must be connected to your car stereo. Once connected:

  1. Open the Navdy app on your phone
  2. Navigate to Settings > Audio > Speech delay
  3. Tap “Play sequence” and listen carefully and mentally note the first number that you hear
  4. Then in the app, select the last number that you heard
By doing this you are setting the Speech delay specific to your car’s stereo so that your audio won’t be cut off.
